UGA - Safe and easy walking through walls
Cable and pipe entries protect your building against water, dangerous gases and pests and help you to avoid serious damage.
Find out here what you need to know about cable and pipe entries in buildings!
Ideal cable and pipe entries that meet German quality standards are on the rise and are finding their way into modern buildings and infrastructure systems all over the world. Their outstanding, long-lasting leak-tightness protects planners and building owners against many hazards that can cause expensive damage.
These solutions that are made in Germany can be planned and installed very easily and quickly. At UGA, we develop and produce top quality gastight and watertight feedthroughs for buildings. This page provides a quick overview.
The basics in one clip
Quick overview of the products from UGA
Cable entries
Seal cables in next to no time. Our systems are easy to install with very little effort. The systems consist of wall inserts, system covers and inserts. You can find a quick overview here.
Fire protection solutions
Fire protection is an essential component of construction projects. As the sales partner of leading manufacturers, we can supply a comprehensive package thanks to our cooperations.
GPD and RRD sealing inserts
Rubber press seals (GPD) and annular seals (RRD) are used for fast and reliable sealing. You can find an overview of our sealing inserts for cables and pipes here.

UGA - Interesting facts
UGA protects against these hazards
1. Damage due to the penetration of water
Water that gets into the building from outside ruins the interior equipment and building fabric. If the equipment consists of electronic devices and technical systems, the penetrating water can damage them and cause downtimes.
2. Dangerous gases
Harmful gases can enter the building via entry points. For example: The radioactive gas radon from the soil. Radon can also spread in buildings via cable ducts and supply shafts. Especially in underground parts of buildings or the lower floors, high radon concentrations can occur if the gas accumulates. Radon is a carcinogenic substance that is hazardous to health.
3. Damage caused by pests
Insects or rats can eat their way through short-lived seals such as spray foam. The result: leaking seals, damage to systems caused by pests and pests in the building.
UGA compared to alternatives
1. Difference to spray foam and similar sealing material
Spray foam has to be renewed regularly, which is difficult in practice. In addition, gaps can be created each time when processing and there is then no full sealing integrity. Unlike these types of seal, the cable and pipe entries from UGA guarantee particularly high durability and reliable leak-tightness.
2. Difference in the installation
Many other products on the market are difficult to install. With the products from UGA, a great deal of attention was paid to the ease of installation. Thanks to the multilayer technology, the seal can easily be used for differently sized cables and pipes. Since a softer rubber is used, it snuggles tighter to cables and pipes and thus ensures particularly high leak-tightness.
The products from UGA are installed during the construction of the building. Our solutions also make it possible to seal cables and pipes in already existing buildings.
3. Top quality – made in Germany
Quality and security are the top priorities for UGA. Since 1990, all products have been developed and produced in Germany according to the highest quality criteria. They are available worldwide
Professional fire protection
In industrial plants, in special construction, in transformer stations and in large buildings such as hospitals or office buildings, there is not only the requirement to lead pipes and lines gas- and watertight through the building. Fire protection requirements are also very important. After all, fire protection is an essential part of building projects.
Fire resistance requirements in buildings: The fire protection products are just as important where fire can flash over from a room or a building section.
Appropriate fire protection is required for the following technical building services that are fed through walls or ceilings:
- Water pipes
- Wastewater pipes
- Telecommunication cables
- Power cables
- Air conditioning ducts
In addition to watertight and gastight pipe and cable entries, UGA also offers you suitable fire protection solutions for all installation situations.
Areas of use of cable and pipe entries
Cable and pipe entries are gastight and watertight products that ensure a reliably sealed entry in a building wall. They protect against water damage in buildings and to electrical systems as well as against pests and the entry of dangerous gases.
Where are cable and pipe entries used?
A seal is required wherever cables and pipes are laid into buildings. The main areas of use are buildings with a particularly large number of entries, for example:
- Electricity substations
- Transformer stations
- Every kind of power station
- Onshore and offshore wind power plants
- Special buildings
- Industrial plants
Did you know ... ?
Especially in countries like China, where the infrastructure of cities is planned and implemented via main supply line shafts, these leading throughs are specifically used in the underground shafts.

Interview with an expert
Assets can be sustainably protected where cables and pipes enter the building
Tobias Szabo explains why cable and pipe entries are so important.
Initially, nobody could explain where all the water had come from that stood knee-deep in the basement of a hospital. The subsequent search for clues clearly identified the cause:
“It had rained a lot over several days. The water had saturated the soil to the extent that the ground could not absorb any more water”, said the expert, explaining the cause of the water damage. “Spray foam was used to seal the points where the cables and pipes were laid into the building. However, this no longer sealed sufficiently, so the water was able to penetrate into the building from outside.”
